Ethan Hunt(Tom Cruise) is getting ready to settle down, and he's been training others to take his place. He is called back into action when his protege is captured. The 3rd installment is directed by TV veteran JJ Abrams(Lost, Alias,Felicity) and he delivers the goods. I thought it was greatly balanced, not as complicated as Brian Depalma's first one, or overly stylized as John Woo's 2nd. Good story, spectacular action, and is there anyone who doesn't get charged up from Lalo Shiffin's theme song from the original TV show.

Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman plays a great villain arms dealer and the 3rd installment has the most emotion of the series with intense scenes of hate, fear, and rage.

If you want to see Tom Cruise at his best, MI:3 is here. I don't know about you, but I could not care less about what the tabloids and entertainment shows think about Mr. Cruise. If he makes good movies, he can jump up and down on Opera's couch all day long for all I care.
