DESIGNER TOYS: THE NEXT BIG THING?
I see that a whole slew of new figures and toys are scheduled to be released in the next few months that are not from any movie, TV show, or video game; but the creations based solely on the imaginations of the the toy creators themselves.
Last years best selling toys at Galactic Comics were the ever popular Ugly Dolls. With their ongoing success, it has inspired many others to produce figures based on whatever their minds can create. Cant' wait till we see what they come out with next.

WILL THE SAW FRANCHISE BE
CONSIDERED THE BEST
HORROR FRANCHISE OF THE DECADE? I THINK SO.
Jigsaw is back again and although on his death bed, has his apprentice Amanda there to help him for one final game. What makes the saw series so vastly superior to the rest of the horror genre? Jigsaw sets up his games where all the victims do have a chance for survival. He actually wants them to win. Having been diagnosed with terminal cancer himself, he hates to see people not appreciate their life, and tries to teach them a lesson about what a gift life actually is. All his "victims" have been those who have succumbed to drug addiction, crime, or many other immoral choices. All the Saw movies surpass most of the other horror flicks in terms of gore and sickness, but has all the twist and turns of a great suspense thriller. I truly feel that having just watched all 3 of these brilliant films again, that they will withstand the test of time in horror film history.
The Guardian DVD was also released this week with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher.
What a comic book week as well. Wolverine issue #50, Fables, DMZ, a new Penny Arcade TPB, and the must have book of the week is "300 the Art of " . This was a graphic novel that I have spoken endlessly about and the movie coming soon looks amazing.

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE TRAILER FOR THE DVD YOU MUST BUY TOMORROW
Hello, I know I've been slacking on the blogging this week but the store's been busy and Emily was out sick a day. Anyway, tomorrow the must see movie is the Protector. The trailer really doesn't give it justice as
Tony Jaa does all his own stunts without any wires, effects, or CGI. When Ong Bak was released last year with Tony Jaa, I had it playing repeatedly for 2weeks non stop. This ones even better.

Other DVD releases are Employee of the Month(Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson), Gridiron Gang (the Rock), and Texas Chainsaw Massacre the Beginning.
The newest comics that I'm excited about is the big reship of Civil War #6 (only one more to go) and also IDW's Scarface Scarred for Life #1. Tony Montana managed to survive being shot up at the end of the Scarface Movie and returns.

Happy New Year
"Scalped" written by the up and coming writer Jason Arron is the hot new book that I was looking for. I read an 8 page preview in last weeks DMZ (Shame on you if you don't read that one) and I knew we had something good here. Well this week, the first issue hit the racks and were introduced to Dashell Bad Horse on the run from the law who ends up being made a cop by the Indian reservations big wig Red Crow who is also managing director of the new Crazy Horse Casino.
This modern day action crime drama takes place in the Prairie Rose reservation of South Dakota.

CLICK HERE FOR JACKASS 2 TRAILER
Johnny Knoxville and the Gang return in the highly anticipated Jackass 2 which is the definition of Critic Proof. You will either be busting a gut laughing or in the bathroom vomiting wondering how the decline of American culture has reached a new low. Remember that it's alright to sit naked on a giant block of ice where your genitals stick to it, as long as "It's for the Bro's"
Also released today is Brian Depalma's "Black Dahlia" with Scarlett Johansson, and Josh Hartnett. Based on a true Hollywood crime story from the 1940's set in LA.
We also got "The Descent". The Best Cave Monster movie ever. Claustophobia really sets in. A couple of years ago I recommended a great little Werewolf indie flick named "Dog Soldiers". That was directed by Neil Marshall's as well. I'm very pleased that they finally realized this mans skill by giving him a much bigger budget and letting him make possibly the best horror movie of the year.
Comic Books are coming in Thursday this week and next due to the holidays. My picks for this week are Astonishing X-men (Josh Whedon's books always late but worth the wait), Love and Rockets #18, Hack Slash (super fun for anyone who's ever enjoyed a good(or bad) horror movie, and Anita Blakes Vampire Hunters.
Hope Everyone has had a Merry Christmas.

CLICK HERE FOR MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND TRAILER
Tomorrow is new movie day and here's what we got:
My Super Ex-Girlfriend: Funny stuff with Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman. It's not a smart thing to break up with a super hero. It's also got "Dwight" from the Office.
Little Miss Sunshine: More funny stuff with a wonderfully dysfunctional family on a road trip to enter their daughter in the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. Alan Arkin is always terrific and we got Steve Carrell (also from the Office) in a more subdued role.
American Pie, the Naked Mile: Even more Comedy. How can you handle it?
Some more serious stuff too.
Lady in the Water: M Night Shyamalan's newest masterwork. Paul Giamatti comes in contact with a Narf from the Blue World. A nice creepy bedtime story.
Invincible: Mark Wahlberg begins his football career in his 30's. Based on a true story.
All the Kings Men: A remake of the classic starring Sean Penn, and James Gandolfini(Tony Soprano)
Scanner Darkly: Filmed live and then they animated over it (like in Waking Life), Keanu Reeves, and Robert Downey Jr.
Fearless: Jet Lee's Martial arts extravaganza
Wicker Man: Nicholas cage in the remake of the 1970's horror classic.
There is also lots of comicbook releases this week as well. Highlights include the Civil War crossovers, Darkman vs Army of Darkness, and a couple new transformers books. Transformers have been selling nonstop since all the anticipation of next summers movie was announced.
A couple of great Art books being released are Dan Breretons (Noctornals) and a Luis Royo Hardcover.
We also got new Rat Fink T-shirts coming in Wednesday that come with a free Rat Fink Wobler.
Other items include Marvel Comics paperweights, Star Wars statues, and a new Ugly Doll named Peaco.
Just One more thing. Check out this art that Marvel released by Michael Turner. Is this the New Fantastic Four? Civil War had divided them up but this shows the new four with Storm and Black Panther along with Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm. What a tease.
I will be working non stop this week with the Christmas Frenzy and all. Just want to say God Bless to everyone, and a Merry Merry Christmas.
